It is important you take the correct measurement when ordering made-to-measure refrigeration door seals.

There are two key methods to correctly measure your door seal. The method used often depends on the type of seal. The measurement types are: "Outside Edge" (measurement taken from one outside edge to the other outside edge) and "Dart Centres" (centre of the track where the dart on the seal pushes into)

When you place your gasket order, our website will ask you to select either outside edge or dart centre as the measurement. Simply select your measurement type, as shown below, then enter your measurements in mm.

How to measure outside edge

Outside-to-outside measurements can be applied for all door seals. We advise taking outside-to-outside measurements while the existing seal it is still fitted in the door or drawer. Be aware of the state of the existing seal you are measuring as it may have become misshapen over time. Choose the best area to take a true measurement. This is the best option if the seal cannot be removed easily to obtain a dart to dart measure or if it is a flap/retainer style seal.

How to measure dart centres

For dart type profiles you can take dart to dart measurements. The true measurement is obtained by removing part of the door seal so you can measure from the track where the seal fixes into. This is the recommended method if the current seal is in a bad state where an outside edge measurement is proving difficult.

Most door seals will allow a 6-8mm tolerance on fitting, except E558, so don’t panic if your measurements are a few mm either way.
